Lend Me Your Ears: Ear Molds For Children

Project Rationale: According to the NIDCD, nearly 2 to 3 out of every 1,000 children in the United States are born with hearing loss in one or both ears. Lack of adequate amplification has well-known and far-reaching implications for development of speech, language, and overall educational performance. The “Lend Me Your Ears” Program will provide free ear molds to the pediatric patients, especially those at the early intervention age, and those in-need, eliminating barriers to amplification during a critical time in their development. By providing free ear molds on-site, they will also relieve the stress and financial strain on  the patient’s parents and caregivers, as well as the added burden of taking children to a different facility, as dictated by their insurance
