The Department of State courses: NYS & Fed Rules and Regulations and Infection Control are required to be taken once every two years; Once between the time you register and renew your registration and again in the 2 years between the next renewal of the DOS. This is in addition to the already mandated 20 hours of continuing education as approved by New York State Department of State. Note: Hearing Aid Dispensers submitting a renewal application on or after January 1, 2019: at least one of these hours must include the topic of Hearing Assistance Technology (HAT) and T-Coils.
*Also affected by the new regulation are Hearing Aid Dispensers licensed as Audiologists through the Dept. of Education.
This course is offered for up to 0.30 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate/Professional Area)
The Children’s Hearing Institute is approved by the American Academy of Audiology to offer Academy CEU’s for this activity. The program is worth a maximum of 0.3 CEU’s.
